One person dead following vehicle crash in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — An 81-year-old Luzerne County man died Tuesday afternoon following a crash on Interstate 81 in Butler Township, authorities said.

Pennsylvania State Police reported that Esau Foster was driving an SUV northbound when he struck the rear of a tractor-trailer. The collision caused the vehicle to roll several times before coming to rest in the median.

Foster was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by PSP Frackville.
