One person dead following vehicle crash in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — One person was killed and another hospitalized early Friday morning after a crash on Interstate 83 in Newberry Township, Pennsylvania State Police reported.

The crash occurred at 2:17 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the weigh station between Exit 35 (Route 177/Lewisberry) and Exit 33 (Route 392/Yocumtown). Police said two people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

One person died at the scene, though their identity has not been released. The other occupant was taken to a hospital, and their condition is currently unknown.

State police said the crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
