OHIO — A Knox County man was killed in a three-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning after another driver failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened near the intersection of Township Road 148 and State Route 586 in Clay Township. Andrew McGee, 31, of Utica, was driving when his vehicle was struck by another car whose driver failed to yield at the stop sign.

After the initial impact, McGee’s vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a second car driven by 54-year-old David Holmes. McGee was pronounced dead at the scene. Holmes suffered minor injuries.

The driver who failed to stop was identified as 30-year-old Kayla Jacobs. A 5-year-old child was also in her vehicle. Neither Jacobs nor the child was injured.

Troopers reported that Holmes and Jacobs were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors. The crash remains under investigation.
