
OHIO — One person was killed in a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon in Wood County, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred around 12:24 p.m. on Dunbridge Road near Dowling Road in Middleton Township.
Investigators said a Dodge truck driven by a 27-year-old from Perrysburg was traveling south on Dunbridge Road, while a Toyota Corolla was heading north. Authorities said both vehicles appeared to lose control on the icy roadway and collided head-on.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as 56-year-old Matias Silvas Jr. of Fremont, was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
The driver of the Dodge truck and a passenger, a 32-year-old from Weston, were treated at the scene and released. Officials said everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
