OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal head-on collision that occurred Thursday afternoon in Huron County.
Troopers said the crash happened around 5 p.m. on New State Road, just south of Hanville Corners Road. According to investigators, a southbound vehicle on Hanville Corners Road went left of center and struck another vehicle head-on.
The driver of the first vehicle, identified as 38-year-old Jina Kaiser of North Fairfield, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A woman and two children were traveling in the second vehicle. All three were transported to the hospital with injuries that were also considered non-life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
