OHIO — One person has died following a crash Monday afternoon on Ronald Reagan Highway, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. near mile marker 30 when a 2018 Lexus pulled over to the right shoulder due to a flat tire. Officials said the vehicle was then struck by a Peterbilt semi-trailer.

Both occupants of the Lexus, a man and a woman in their 70s, were taken to Bethesda North Hospital. The man later died from his injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was also taken to the hospital, treated for minor injuries, and released.

Authorities said all parties were wearing seatbelts, and neither speed nor alcohol are suspected as factors in the crash.

Ronald Reagan Highway was closed in both directions for a period but has since reopened.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit at 513-825-1500.
