OHIO — A teenager was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in the City of Green, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said they were called to the scene on South Arlington Road, just south of Lake Breeze Drive, around 2 a.m. after reports of a crash.
According to investigators, a Suzuki Kizashi was traveling south when the driver lost control. The vehicle went off the side of the road, struck a ditch, and overturned several times.
The driver, identified only as a 17-year-old male, was the sole occupant of the car. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in Akron, where he was later pronounced dead.
State troopers said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. They also confirmed the teen was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
The victim’s name has not been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
