One person dead following vehicle crash in Ohio

OHIO — A 17-year-old from Spencerville died early Monday morning after a single-vehicle crash, authorities said.

Shawnee Township police responded just after 4 a.m. to the 5100 block of State Route 117, where investigators said Owen Conley was driving a 2008 Honda Accord westbound when he veered off the road, struck an embankment and a tree, and overturned. Conley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities reported that Conley was not wearing a seat belt and that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
