One person dead following vehicle crash in Ohio

OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday evening in Licking Township.

According to authorities, 75-year-old Kathryn J. Jenkins of Utica was driving a GMC Envoy northbound on Ohio Route 586 around 6:30 p.m. on August 7 when her vehicle went off the left side of the road, struck a ditch, and overturned near mile marker 1.

Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Responding agencies included the Licking Township Fire Department, Licking Township EMS, the Muskingum County Coroner’s Office, SRS Services, and Carol’s Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
