
OHIO — A 17-year-old girl is dead and another teenager is seriously injured following a single-car crash early Tuesday morning, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred around 1:39 a.m. in the 2100 block of Ross Hanover Road.
Deputies said a 2014 Acura carrying two 17-year-old girls was traveling west when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car went off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released. The passenger was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the cause of the crash.
While speed may have been a factor, authorities said there is no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
