One person dead following vehicle crash in Ohio

OHIO — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Tuesday morning in Williams County.

According to OSHP, the crash happened around 12:59 a.m. on June 24 along U.S. Route 127 near milepost 17 in Millcreek Township.

Authorities say 20-year-old Dylan Eisel, of West Unity, was driving northbound with a 19-year-old passenger when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a utility pole, and overturned.

Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle, and investigators say neither was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Eisel was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, whose name has not been released, was flown to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

Officials confirmed that Eisel was a member of the Brady Township Fire Department and represented the third generation of his family to serve the department.
