OHIO — A 22-year-old Maria Stein man was killed Thursday afternoon in a head-on collision in Mercer County, according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.
Trent Pleiman was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2013 Ford sedan went left of center and collided with a 2019 Jeep SUV on Clover Four Road, east of Guadalupe Road.
The crash occurred around 12:43 p.m. in Marion Township.
The driver of the Jeep, 24-year-old Allison Bruggeman of Chickasaw, was taken to Mercer Health in Coldwater and later flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton for further treatment.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash. This marks the third fatal traffic accident in Mercer County in 2025.
Assisting at the scene were the Montezuma Fire Department, Coldwater Squads 7 and 10, Mercer County EMS first responders, and Mercer County Emergency Response Volunteers.
