OHIO — An 18-year-old Marietta man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred around 8:34 p.m. on Blue Knob Road near milepost 2.
Authorities say Jeremy Heiss was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry southbound when he went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Heiss was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol stated that drugs and alcohol are not suspected in the crash, and that Heiss was wearing his seatbelt at the time. The crash remains under investigation.
Responding agencies included the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Warren Township Volunteer Fire and EMA, Marietta EMS, Westfall Towing, and the Washington County Coroner’s Office.
