OHIO — An 87-year-old man died Thursday night after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing U.S. Route 42 near Fields Ertel Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers from the Hamilton Post responded to the scene shortly before 9:40 p.m.
They identified the victim as James Quick of Sharonville.
Preliminary findings indicate Quick was attempting to cross the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a southbound 2023 Ford F-150.
The truck was driven by a 37-year-old man, who, along with his passenger, was not injured.
Quick was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
