OHIO — A man is dead following a single-vehicle crash into a utility pole early Friday morning in Hanover Township, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the crash occurred at the intersection of Millville Avenue and Wencella Drive. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Investigators said the vehicle, driven by a male who was the sole occupant, was traveling eastbound on Millville Avenue, just west of Wencella Drive, when it left the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Hanover Township Fire and medic units responded to the crash and pronounced the driver dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Authorities indicated that speed and alcohol are suspected factors in the crash. The Butler County Serious Accident Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate.
