OHIO — One woman was killed and another injured in a single-car crash early Saturday morning on Cleveland’s east side, according to police.
Cleveland police said officers responded around 2:34 a.m. to St. Clair Avenue near East 107th Street for reports of a crash.
Investigators determined the vehicle was traveling eastbound on St. Clair when the driver lost control while negotiating a curve. The car went off the roadway and struck a utility pole and a brick sign structure.
The driver, a 28-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
A 25-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Neither occupant appeared to be wearing a seatbelt. Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
