One person dead following vehicle crash in Ohio

OHIO — A 38-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash Saturday afternoon, according to police and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.

Matthew Ertel, of Springdale, was traveling north on Daly Road around 3:48 p.m. when he lost control of his 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle, a crash report states.

Ertel was ejected from the motorcycle, struck a pole, and then fell to the ground.

Emergency responders transported Ertel to the University of Cincinnati Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash report was filed Monday with the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

Authorities have not released further details on the cause of the crash.
