One person dead following vehicle crash in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in Fayetteville, authorities said.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Cedar Creek Road near N.C. Highway 210.

Officers responded to the scene and closed N.C. 210 for approximately three hours during the investigation.

Police said the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The incident remains under active investigation.
