NORTH CAROLINA — Asheville police are investigating a fatal vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon at the intersection of New Leicester Highway and Eliada Home Road.
According to Asheville Police Department public relations manager Samantha Booth, officers responded to the scene of what was described as a fatal motor vehicle accident.
New Leicester Highway was closed in both directions following the crash. The North Carolina Department of Transportation reported that the closure began at 4:37 p.m. and was cleared at 6:21 p.m.
Police have not released additional details about the individuals involved or the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing and that no further information is available at this time.
