One person dead following vehicle crash in New York

NEW YORK — A West Turin man died Monday afternoon following a crash in the Town of Turin, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say 49-year-old David Kantor was driving a 1988 Ford dump truck eastbound on Lyman Road when he failed to negotiate a curve.

The truck struck a parked trailer and an excavator on Gomer Hill Road.

Kantor was airlifted from a nearby landing zone to SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he later died from his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
