MISSOURI — A two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Caldwell County left one man dead and a teenager seriously injured, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:52 p.m. on June 20 along U.S. Highway 36, about four miles west of the Hamilton City Reservoir.

Authorities say a 15-year-old from Hamilton, Missouri, was driving a 2018 Mazda CX5 eastbound in the westbound lanes when the vehicle collided head-on with a 2010 Ford Escape.

The Ford was being driven westbound in the correct lane by a 41-year-old man from Breckenridge, Missouri.

The 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caldwell County Coroner. His body was transported to the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The juvenile driver was airlifted to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for treatment.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
