MARYLAND — A head-on collision early Wednesday morning in Burtonsville left one man dead and another injured, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services.
The crash was reported around 3:30 a.m. in the 4500 block of Sand Spring Road. When emergency crews arrived, they found two vehicles had collided head-on, with both drivers trapped inside their cars.
Fire crews worked to free both men from the wreckage. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
The second driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash, and additional details have not yet been made public.
