LOUISIANA — A Lafayette woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Friday morning in St. Mary Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. on La. 90 near Cotton Road.
Investigators said 20-year-old Kylee Nobles of Lafayette was driving a 2005 BMW west in the eastbound lanes of the highway. At the same time, a 2019 Kenworth tractor-trailer was traveling east in the eastbound lanes.
For reasons still under investigation, the BMW collided head-on with the tractor-trailer.
Nobles was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Troopers said routine toxicology samples were collected from both drivers and submitted for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
