
KENTUCKY — One person was killed and another injured following a head-on collision Friday evening in Marion County, according to Kentucky State Police.
Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 15 responded to a two-vehicle crash on KY 49 (Bradfordville Road) after being called to the scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
An early investigation determined that 35-year-old Jacob Buckingham, of Bradfordsville, was traveling south on KY 49 in a 2014 Ford F-150 when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. Buckingham’s vehicle collided head-on with a 2011 Honda Civic driven by 21-year-old Mason May, of Lebanon.
The Marion County Coroner pronounced May dead at the scene. Buckingham was taken to Spring View Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.
Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Fire/EMS, the Lebanon Fire Department, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
