KENTUCKY — A Floyd County man was killed Monday night in a single-vehicle crash in Knott County, according to the Kentucky State Police.
Troopers said they received a 911 call about the crash at approximately 8:02 p.m. on Kentucky Route 80 in the Leburn area.
When troopers and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene, they found a Toyota Camry that had gone over an embankment off the westbound shoulder of the highway.
During the investigation, troopers determined that the driver, 68-year-old Keith Dingus of Langley, had been ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over the embankment.
Dingus was pronounced dead at the scene by officials with the Knott County Coroner’s Office.
Investigators said Dingus may have experienced a medical emergency before the crash. His body has been sent to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
Two minors who were also inside the vehicle were transported to UK Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
