KENTUCKY — A man was killed and four others were injured Monday evening in a head-on crash at the intersection of West KY Highway 90 and KY Highway 1546, an area known for previous fatal accidents, according to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron.
Deputies responded to the scene shortly after 7 p.m. Investigators say a 59-year-old Wayne County man was driving west on KY 90 when he attempted to pass another vehicle and collided head-on with an eastbound pickup truck.
The pickup was carrying two adults and two children from Albany, Kentucky.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner.
All four occupants of the pickup were transported to a nearby hospital, and two were later airlifted to another facility for further treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
