
INDIANA — One man is dead following a single-vehicle crash near Garrett early Sunday morning, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the crash happened just before 3 a.m. in the 6000 block of County Road 327.
Investigators said the vehicle was traveling south when the driver left the roadway, striking a metal wire fence. The car continued through multiple fence posts before crashing into a utility pole.
The driver, a 55-year-old man from Garrett, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
