INDIANA — A Kokomo woman was killed Tuesday morning in a crash involving a semi and an SUV, according to authorities.

The collision occurred shortly before 10 a.m. on State Road 22 near County Road 1350 East. Emergency crews from the Indiana State Police, Howard County Sheriff’s Office and Greentown Police Department responded to the scene.

Investigators said 35-year-old Brittani Duncan was driving westbound on SR 22 when her vehicle crossed the center line for an unknown reason. Her car then collided with a semi and an SUV.

Duncan was pronounced dead at the scene by the Howard County Coroner’s Office.

A child who was in Duncan’s vehicle was flown to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to officials.

The driver of the SUV was transported by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the semi was not injured.

Authorities said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, but neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be factors.

Officials also noted that snowy conditions in the region may have contributed to hazardous roadways, as multiple crashes were reported in northern Indiana due to slick conditions.
