
INDIANA — A 17-year-old passenger was killed Sunday night after a minivan slid into the path of a semi-truck during poor weather conditions in Elkhart County, according to authorities.
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. on State Road 13, south of County Road 38.
Investigators said the minivan lost control due to the weather and slid into the path of a southbound semi-truck. The passenger, identified as JayDee Miller of Elkhart, was pronounced dead as a result of the crash.
The 17-year-old driver of the minivan was transported to a hospital with a minor head injury. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
