INDIANA — An 81-year-old Laurel woman was killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Franklin County, according to sheriff’s deputies.
The crash happened around 5:17 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 1 and Rhein Road. Deputies said a 2010 Ford Fusion entered the intersection from Rhein Road and was struck on the driver’s side by a southbound Toyota Tacoma.
The driver of the Ford, identified as Rosa Banks, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Banks’ vehicle sustained injuries and was treated at the scene. The driver of the Tacoma was not injured.
Deputies said alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
