ILLINOIS — One person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Lincoln, according to the Illinois State Police.
The crash occurred at 4:35 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Parkway and Kenwood Drive. Officials did not provide details on how the crash happened or the types of vehicles involved. One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a local hospital with injuries.
Lincoln Parkway was closed for approximately four hours while first responders worked at the scene.
An autopsy on the deceased driver is scheduled for Tuesday.
Their identity will not be released until family members have been notified. The crash remains under investigation.
