GEORGIA — A fatal crash closed part of Highway 21 in Rincon on Wednesday morning, according to police.
Rincon Police said they were working with the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit to investigate what was first reported as a serious injury crash near 4th Street. The wreck later was confirmed to be fatal.
As of late morning, one northbound lane of Highway 21 had reopened but traffic was moving slowly through the area.
Police are asking drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes while the investigation continues.
