GEORGIA — One person was killed in a crash on Bluffton Parkway Saturday afternoon, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred at approximately 12:49 p.m. when a 1991 Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound on Bluffton Parkway. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the left side of the roadway, struck the median, then hit a tree and overturned.
Authorities said the driver of the Ford Mustang was ejected from the vehicle into the westbound lanes. A 2026 Genesis SUV traveling westbound then struck the ejected driver.
The driver of the Ford Mustang was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional information about the victim has been released.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
