
FLORIDA — A Jacksonville man was killed late Saturday night in a head-on crash in Alachua County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 11:45 p.m. on State Road 24. Investigators report the 30-year-old man was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when his vehicle collided head-on with a pickup truck.
Following the crash, authorities said the man’s vehicle became engulfed in flames. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 21-year-old man from Middleburg, along with two passengers — another 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman — sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
