FLORIDA — One person is dead following a crash that sparked a vehicle fire late Friday night in northwest Miami-Dade County, authorities said.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred near Northwest 135th Street and 47th Avenue.
Officials said a vehicle struck a tree and caught fire. Crews with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze.
Authorities said one man was pronounced dead at the scene.
While deputies were blocking off the area, a second crash occurred at the intersection. Officials said another vehicle struck a deputy’s patrol vehicle.
The deputy was treated for minor injuries.
No additional details, including the identity of the deceased, have been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
