
FLORIDA — One person was killed and another seriously injured in a crash early Tuesday morning on U.S. 19 in Hudson, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened around 3:28 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Clark Street in Hudson.
According to investigators, a Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 48-year-old woman from Spring Hill was traveling southbound on U.S. 19 when she made a U-turn at Clark Street and entered the path of another Volkswagen Jetta. The second vehicle, driven by a 45-year-old Spring Hill woman, was traveling northbound at the time.
Authorities said the 48-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The 45-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, troopers said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
