
FLORIDA — One person was killed early Saturday morning in a crash involving a pickup truck, an SUV and a pedestrian in Jackson County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred shortly after midnight on State Road 77, south of Vicki Road. A 23-year-old man from Newton was driving a pickup truck northbound when a pedestrian, a 22-year-old man from Caryville, entered the roadway from the east shoulder and stood in the middle of the northbound lane.
According to investigators, the pickup truck struck the pedestrian, causing him to be thrown into the southbound lane. An SUV driven by a 35-year-old woman from Chipley was traveling southbound and subsequently ran over the pedestrian.
The 22-year-old Caryville man was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of both vehicles were not reported to be injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the identities of those involved have not been released. The crash remains under investigation, and no information has been released regarding potential charges.
