FLORIDA — One person was killed and two others injured Friday night in a wrong-way crash on U.S. Highway 90, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Authorities said the crash occurred just before midnight when a 37-year-old Quincy man was driving east in the westbound inside lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck. A third vehicle, traveling westbound in the outside lane, then struck the back of the pickup before veering off the road into a wooded area.
The wrong-way driver died, though authorities did not specify if the death occurred at the scene or at a hospital. The pickup driver sustained serious injuries, while the third driver suffered minor injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by the Midway Police Department, Midway Fire and Rescue, and Gadsden County Emergency Management.
