
ALABAMA — A three-vehicle crash in Franklin County left one man dead and five others injured, including a 13-year-old, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
The accident happened around 8:25 a.m. Saturday on Alabama 24 near Franklin County 99, about 10 miles east of Russellville.
ALEA said 23-year-old Bobby L. Hodge, of Moulton, was killed when the car he was driving was struck by a truck. After the impact, both his car and the truck collided with another pickup truck, causing Hodge’s car and the first truck to overturn. Hodge was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the driver of the first truck and an adult passenger were injured and transported to Helen Keller Hospital. A 13-year-old in the same vehicle was also hurt and taken to a local hospital.
The driver and passenger of the second pickup truck were also injured and taken to Helen Keller Hospital.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the crash.
