ALABAMA — A person died Saturday night after a single-vehicle crash in New Market, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency responded to reports of a vehicle that had struck a concrete power pole at Walker Lane and Hubert Road and was fully engulfed in flames. Authorities said deputies were unable to approach the vehicle due to the fire, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash caused a power outage affecting portions of the New Market area.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the cause of the crash.
