KENTUCKY — Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Thursday night in Corbin involving a Knox County Sheriff’s deputy and a side-by-side vehicle.
According to police, the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on SE Business Drive.
Preliminary findings indicate a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a side-by-side traveling on the roadway when the two vehicles collided.
The side-by-side was carrying two men, ages 20 and 21. The driver was taken to Baptist Health in Corbin, where he was later pronounced dead. The passenger and the deputy were not injured.
State Police are leading the collision reconstruction and continuing the investigation.
