VIRGINIA — A 91-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in Amherst County on Thursday afternoon, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. when a Nissan traveling east on Amelon Expressway was struck by a Lexus that failed to yield at a stop sign.
The impact caused the Nissan to run off the left side of the road and into a treeline.
The driver of the Nissan was identified as Deion Taliaferro, 91. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The 17-year-old driver of the Lexus was not injured and has been charged with failure to yield the right of way. The crash remains under investigation.
