ILLINOIS — One person was killed and another critically injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in the city’s Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, according to police.
The crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of South Chicago Avenue and East 75th Street.
Chicago police said a man driving a black SUV disregarded a traffic signal and collided with a white sedan.
Both drivers were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Authorities said the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead, while the driver of the sedan was listed in critical condition.
Police said the drivers were the only occupants in their respective vehicles, and no other injuries were reported.
The identities of those involved have not been released.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the crash.
