One person dead following two-vehicle crash in Alabama

ALABAMA — A Hayden man died in a two-vehicle crash in Blount County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The crash happened around 2:50 p.m. on April 26 along Blount County 5 near Pinecrest Drive, about three miles west of Blount Springs.

Authorities said 34-year-old Shawn Albright was driving a 2000 Honda Accord when he collided head-on with a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 46-year-old Bridget Biggs of Pinson.

Officials said Albright was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Biggs and a child passenger in her truck were both injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by ALEA Troopers.
