NORTH CAROLINA — A tractor-trailer driver was killed Monday in a single-vehicle crash on River Road in Cumberland County, according to authorities.
The crash occurred around noon near the Middle River Loop area. The North Carolina Highway Patrol said the driver of the tractor-trailer died as a result of the wreck.
The driver was identified as Charles Shearn. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Details surrounding the cause of the wreck were not immediately released. The incident remains under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
