VIRGINIA — Fairfax County police are actively searching for a suspect in the fatal stabbing of 32-year-old Marvin Waters, which occurred Tuesday afternoon in Groveton.
Officers responded to the intersection of Richmond Highway and North Kings Highway around 2 p.m. for a reported stabbing.
When they arrived, they found Waters lying in the roadway with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and died shortly afterward.
Detectives believe the stabbing followed an argument at a bus stop and described the incident as “isolated.”
On Wednesday, police released a blurry surveillance photo of the suspect and issued a description.
The suspect is believed to be a tall Black man wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans, carrying a black backpack. He is also reported to have facial hair.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fairfax County Police Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 2. Tips may also be submitted anonymously through Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
