OHIO — A man is dead following a stabbing Tuesday night in east Columbus, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Officers responded around 10 p.m. to a reported stabbing in the 3100 block of Allegheny Avenue, near Columbus Africentric Early College High School.
When officers arrived, they found 35-year-old Damon Riley suffering from a stab wound.
Riley was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:28 p.m.
Police said another man at the scene identified himself as the person who stabbed Riley, claiming the act was done in self-defense.
However, investigators stated that the initial findings did not reveal a clear motive.
