INDIANA — A 20-year-old man died early Saturday after being stabbed during what police believe was a domestic dispute on the city’s east side.
Breyner Perez Matute was taken to Community East Hospital shortly before 7 a.m. on Sept. 13 with injuries initially reported as gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, according to police.
Officers later determined Matute had been stabbed in the 300 block of North Shortridge Road. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives said the incident appears to have been the result of a domestic dispute.
All parties involved have been identified, and a person of interest has been arrested following consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
