One person dead following shooting near Ohio golf course

OHIO — One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting Wednesday afternoon near PipeStone Golf Club in Montgomery County.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 9200 block of Sawgrass Drive around 2:05 p.m., according to a township spokesperson.

A county-wide call for officer assistance, known as a Signal 99, was issued at approximately 2:20 p.m. after reports of shots fired.

Authorities confirmed that at least one officer was involved in the shooting, resulting in the suspect’s death.

One officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for evaluation as a precaution.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
