VIRGINIA — One man is dead and another is being sought by police following a shooting Wednesday night in Lynchburg.
According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers responded around 9 p.m. to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Pierce Street and 12th Street. Investigators said two men were arguing when one pulled out a gun and shot the other.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the suspect was last seen driving away in a large black sedan with black wheels, heading toward 13th Street.
The investigation remains ongoing as officers work to determine the relationship between the two men. Authorities said there is no known threat to the community.
